Now What

Off For an Adventure

Good ideas are spawned in the darkness of the night, and are realized when the sun brings it's light, creating the contrast that makes the dream come to life. It is in the darkness, however, that one finds what they really made of.  "It's a small world" is never more apparent than when all one sees is a 6 foot swath of the trail in front of him or her. Reality swings to and fro, displaying only for a second what people later that day will over look on their quest of beauty. What makes something stand out is not the subject, but how the subject is perceived, and the contrast that is captured. That moment comes when the sun tickles the horizon and the head lamp is put in your pack for the remainder of the day. Only then, it is realized how far is still left to go. And even though the view is stunning, the summit is not yet in sight, and doubt sets in. "Is it possible?" The good idea that came to be in the not too distant past now raises its eye brows as if to say "Are you sure you want to proceed?"  That is where I find myself now, my metaphorical car is left at the trail head, but the route ahead causes me to stagger.

Now What

No longer is being an adult just a concept.  Soon I will be responsible for myself,  with no more restrictions, no 'wrong' answers. College needs to be planned for, a car bought, and insurance to go with it, a job to keep it all up and running. My 'dream' is a long way off and is way bigger then it appeared to be when the ground work was being laid. The plans that had been set so carefully are no more than guidelines, my 'details' merely bullets but have yet to be expanded on. I applied to life, and it asked for my resume. I handed it a sticky note with a mayo stain on it.

Final Thoughts

So the analogy in the first paragraph might have been a little over done, but it fits. Putting my thoughts down on 'paper' helps me process, and work the issue from every angle. There is nothing left on my mind tonight. If you as the reader have any suggestions/input, I'd be more than grateful for your input.

Thanks,

K
